The equipment adopts the system static pressure as the initial design pressure
head in the expansion tank. In the initial operation, the make-up water pump is
first started to fill the water chamber in the system and the air pressure tank.
After the system is full, the excess water is squeezed into the capsule. As the
amount of water increases, the volume of the water chamber expands and compresses
the gasbag, and the pressure inside the tank also increases. When it reaches the
design pressure, the make-up water pump is turned off by the pressure controller.
When the thermal expansion of the water in the system causes the system pressure
to rise above the design pressure, excess water is discharged through the relief
valve to the make-up water tank for circulation, when the volume of water in the
system shrinks due to leakage or temperature drop, and the system pressure drops,
the water in the capsule is continuously pressed into the pipe network to supplement
the pressure drop loss of the system. When the system has a large amount of water
to supplement, the make-up water pump is started.

The standby pump will be put into work automatically when the main pump fails.
Non-negative pressure water supply equipment is a kind of secondary pressurized water supply equipment that directly connects with municipal water supply network and provides pressure superposed water supply on the basis of residual pressure of municipal pipe network to ensure that the municipal pipe network pressure is not less than the set protection pressure (it can be 0 pressure of relative pressure, and it is called negative pressure when the pressure is less than 0).
